Canzona and Philip Rushworth

PHILIP RUSHWORTH’S new CD from Chester Cathedral for Priory contains Whitlock's Six Hymn Preludes and the complete Sonata in C minor. The dsc also includes the premier recording of Charles Hylton Stewart's Five Short and Easy Pieces (dedicated to Whitlock). Stewart and his family moved to Chester in 1930 from Rochester Cathedral where they were visited by Percy and Edna Whitlock in 1931.
